I care passionately about Newcastle North – this is the area where I was born, grew up and am now raising my own young family.
It was therefore a huge honour to first be elected as the Labour Member of Parliament for our area in 2010, and then re-elected in 2015.
Since being elected to Parliament, I have been an approachable, transparent, pro-active and accessible MP – working really hard to represent the whole constituency over the last seven years.
I’ve met with hundreds of local people, community organisations, businesses and charities to listen to their concerns and represent their views in Parliament.
It’s also been hugely rewarding to be able to help a large number of local people with specific problems – and since 2010 – I have handled around 15,000 individual cases, or policy queries, on behalf of residents and organisations across Newcastle North.
Across the constituency, I have also seen firsthand the disastrous impact the current Conservative Government – and previous Tory-Lib Dem Coalition – have had on Newcastle and the North East. That is why I’m determined to continue to fight to get the best deal for our area.
I would be honoured to be re-elected to represent our area, and I would be grateful to receive your support on 8th June.
And, if I haven’t yet had the opportunity to meet with you – of if you have any concerns you’d like to raise with me – please don’t hesitate to get in touch using the contact details on this website.
