The deadline for registering to vote is midnight today – November 26th
There are so many people who are not registered to vote and have their say, including one third of young people aged 18-35.
The result of this election will affect everyone so make sure you register before midnight tonight. You can do it online: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
The deadline to register for a postal vote is also today at 5pm, so make sure you return your form to Newcastle City Council by then. You can email them your form or post it, as long as you do it before 5pm: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/apply-for-a-postal-vote
In the interests of transparency I am posting here the response I have provided to Denton and Westerhope Independents regarding their hustings event.
I’m really pleased to have the support of the lovely Rich family from Throckley in this election.
I was absolutely over the moon when the NHS ruled that Brineura, the drug that treats Batten Disease, will be available via NHS England by the end of this year.
It’s been a long, hard-fought campaign by the Rich family to get access to this vital treatment for their lovely daughters Nicole and Jessica, which I was pleased to support in any way I could.
I will always fight for families in Newcastle North.
